Recipe and photo – Lithuanian Kazakh community Nursaule
400 g of mutton or beef
home made pasta
3-4 turnip onions
1-2 peppers
1 carrot
1 radish
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
bunch of onions (Kazakhs use a specific bulbous plant called jiu)
calendars
garlic, salt, black and red pepper
Cut the meat into small cubes and cook until browned. If the meat is hard, drizzle it in a little water until soft. Along with the meat, cook the onion, add salt to taste.
Cut any remaining vegetables into straws. Put carrots, bell peppers, onions, tomato sauce and spices in a skillet and cook over high heat, stirring constantly. Add the radish a little later so it does not soften too much.
Now add some water and cook for 15-20 minutes. If you like you can add different greens.
Boil the noodles and place them in the boiled water for 1-2 minutes before placing them on the plate.
Put the pasta on the plate with the meat and vegetable stew on them.
