There was an iron processing factory in Kaunas owned by the German brothers Tilmans. Thanks to them, the first industrial power plant in Lithuania, which operated until 1929, was established in the factory. The factory complex consists of only surviving buildings on Kaunakiemio Street, while the former Tilmansian administration building was located under the roof of the Akropolis PC. It can still be seen today.
